There are a few types of icing, but the type of icing she is using is called a buttercream icing. So no difference between icing and buttercream, but there are differences between difference types of icing.

@MissWriter92 Sugar content. Everything sweet in america has WAY too much sugar. You can buy cookies from a store and get the same kind of cookies from an asian market and the american brand is 5x as sweet and actually tastes gross compared to the asian brand.
