    Someone told me that Mexico is the number 1 consumer in soft drinks.The worst thing is that mexicans,especially near the border is copying the american diet and combining it with our own.(Barf)

    @FruityLoopsas i dont buy that crap… nor do i eat chips. I blame the fda for not having a higher standard.. it wasnt that long ago they banned lard from mcdonalds. Unfortunantly, there are not enough ppl NOT buying the crap to make a difference. Plenty of money to be made off of crappy food.

    American servings are too big. Then again the Japanese are smaller than americans .

  • jenniferfires

    @Mog087 No. Canadians are as bad as americans too.

    @IANXZ Hey the sodas in Mexico are actually made with sugar! In the U.S. most soft drinks are made with high fructose corn syrup which is bad! Even Coke in Mexico is made with sugar, as opposed to Coke in the U.S.

    @Mog087 Except for England.

    I hate our US diet. ._.
    That’s one reason I wanna move there or someplace else.

    Portion control and clean raw foods. American’s don’t know what they mean. The more crap you eat the more you need to eat get the same level of nutrients. When you eat McDonalds after eating clean for a while you feel like shit. The fat gorging pigs at the Las Vegas buffets scared me so much. Hate to be a plumber in that town.

    What!? No, carbohydrates do not make you feel full!

    Check out the documentary BBC Low-Carb. It’s protein that makes you feel full.

    Our stone age ancestors ate very little sugar, a little honey, ripe fruit, that’s it. They never needed to evolve a system that said – That’s enough sugar. So today people have no feedback that says – Stop eating sugar!

    It’s sugar and corn syrup that make people fat by spiking insulin, which converts sugars to triglycerides and stores them in the liver & fat cells

    Mmk, now make a video (or provide a link) on Japanese recipes. :D

  • PurrfectPeach

    @AppleSouffle I agree with most of what you say, but carbs DO make you feel full. Protein may do so more effectively (feel fuller longer with smaller amounts), but I think many people could tell you they have felt pretty damn full for pretty damn long after a big bowl of pasta with marinara.

    Im all for Japan and their diet, but I think your reaseach is not 100%, I think you need based sugar intake , as well as beef off of per household or per person vs usa as the usa has way more people than Japan! They do eat beef, and do use use sugar and flower and oils to fry, Im sure not as much per household, and alot of Japanese drink soda, there are vending machines all over the cities. But overall their “traditional” diet is very healthy compared to usa!

    Good video, though I feel like it would serve the viewers to also point out the negative aspects of the Japanese diet. All their bread is super radioactive fluffy white bread – there isn’t a single whole grain bread in any store (they have “genmai” which is a little better for you but not as good as the ones you can find in America). So all the bread that the kids get in their kyushoku (school lunch that us English teachers also have to eat) is essentially Wonder Bread.
